Folk Art Restaurant

img_1775Today I decided to venture out of the norm and go try a new restaurant outside the few that my boyfriend and I go to on the regular. He’s not as adventurous as I am when it comes to trying new places that affects his food options, because he doesn’t want to get caught with a menu that he can’t order off of, which is understandable but it defeats the purpose (lol). Today the new restaurant for me was Folk Art. I found it randomly while searching for breakfast and brunch places. I was so sure I was going to make it here for breakfast but I got caught up watching recorded episodes of ‘Scandal’ (season 6 is out and I’m here for all of it :D). I made it out here as they were changing over to lunch. They do have an “all day” breakfast section that includes omelets; pancakes; french toast. However, I just went ahead and ordered something off the lunch/brunch/dinner menu.img_1774-1 I ordered the veggie beet burger! This burger was topped with tomato, avocado, and sprouts originally and got help from my server on how I should dress it up and make it real for me. So his suggestions were to get sautéed mushrooms, hummus, and cheese because that’s what he gets. I did get the sautéed mushrooms with the addition of kimchi on the side (because i wasn’t sure if i would like it), their fresh made pickles, sriracha, and mayo. For my side, I tried their cucumber and avocado salad. You guys…..The meal was absolutely AMAZING! img_1773
They have four different selections that were featured on one of the hit shows on food network ‘Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives’ with host Guy Fieri. Although I did not try those options I’m sure they were more than worthy of consumption. But before I short change them please don’t let me forget to mention that they have a wide variety of craft beers, cocktails, and wines available as well, for those of age. I didn’t get the opportunity to indulge in any of that today because I felt like it was still too early for that (lol). At this point I’m sure you’re wondering where this place is located, so let me help you out. Folk Art is located on the corner of N Highland Ave Ne and Colquitt Ave Ne in Atlanta, Ga. Now that you have that information please go try it out!

I, personally, love to try new things especially if they’re healthy options (they also have hearty selections as well). I will definitely try to get out to this establishment in the future to try more things (their breakfast since i missed it lol).

I encourage you to go out and try a new restaurant. You don’t have to have anyone with you to experience new things because waiting on someone will sometimes hold you back from that moment.
